It is a procedure that involves surgical removal and relocation of healthy hair follicles to bald spots of the scalp. During the procedure, the surgeon transplants numerous hair follicles in order to create a normal hair pattern. Transplantation is carried out using blades and bore needles. More often than not, a patient may need to undergo a number of sessions to accomplish the desired effect and appearance.

A word of advice: try to look for a high-skilled cosmetic surgeon that would perform the procedure since inexpert hands tend to create unnatural-looking hair patterns.

Rhinoplasty

It is a common procedure that is also referred to as a “nose job.” This cosmetic surgery procedure may involve resizing or reshaping of the nose. A more refined-looking nose or a more upright nasal bridge is the most common reasons for rhinoplasty. These motives apply to both men and women.

The degree of reshaping usually dictates whether a rhinoplasty should be an open technique or a closed procedure. The patient may also go under general or local anesthesia, depending on the extent and duration of the surgery. The entire procedure could last for one hour up to five hours.

Postoperative puffiness and discoloration may last for a number of weeks, and the new nose may need to heal for up to six months before it could permanently stay on its new appearance.

Liposuction

The procedure literally translates to “suctioning of fat.” The reason for its popularity among men is the attractive potential of attaining a well-sculpted physique, from the face down to the legs. Fat-filled body regions that serve as the most popular liposuction areas in men are the neck, “love handles,” and the belly.

Majority of the liposuction cases are carried out under local anesthesia. Traditionally, the procedure involves suctioning of fat cells and fluid. The surgeon performs this by creating small incisions and inserting suction tubes into the area. The tube works like a vacuum and sucks out excess fat cells.

The immediate results of liposuction, however, should not be considered as appropriate replacement for exercise and proper diet.

Blepharoplasty

Also know as eyelid surgery, this procedure tautens the sagging skin around the eyelid area. It results to a more alert and relaxed appearance. The main goal is to create a more revitalized look without leaving hints of the procedure.

During blepharoplasty, excess skin is surgically removed from the upper eyelids. In other cases, the fat pads under the lids may also be taken off. The patient may be put under general or local anesthesia for the duration of the surgery and recuperation may last for up to three weeks.

Gynecomastia

In Greek, the root word of the term refers to woman-like breasts. Although it is not considered as a well-liked topic of discussion among men, the existence of such cases resulted to the rising need for gynecomastia.

The procedure is actually a lifesaver for some people since it helps build a manlier chest. Plus, it helps boost a person’s self-confidence. However, the attractive results should not overshadow the risks of the procedure.

During gynecomastia, the glandular tissues and excess fats are taken off the chest resulting to a firmer and flatter torso. Since the procedure is rather invasive, it is usually perfomed under general anesthesia.

From whichever angle you look at it, cosmetic surgery remains to be one of the most common solution to achieving that ideal appearance and almost-perfect body. Unlike before, cosmetic surgery is not anymore viewed as a gender-related fad because men also resort to such procedures. And like women, they too are entitled to do whatever they want with their body.
