A novel Celution, indeed

Cosmetic Surgery Chump promises a bit more detailed research on this tomorrow, but much of the ‘net is abuzz with the therapy technique known as “Celution” detailed in Chemistry and Industry Magazine.

Touted as potential helping mastectomy patients, Celution’s use is described (by, o, let’s say Spirit India) as: “Tummy fat or fat from the bottom could be used to enlarge breasts in a short span of time like an hour during lunch break…”

Using stem-cell regenerative technology, a “cell-enhanced tissue transfer” is performed and – get this – a new breast essentially grows in six months.

Cytori Therapeutics reports that the largest trial of Celution, involving nineteen women in Japan, went well: “All of them had had at least partial mastectomies and all responded well to the treatment, with no major side-effects. Clinical trials are continuing, and the company hopes to introduce the therapy to Europe in early 2008.”

To be continued…
